Excess Estrogen

Estrogen and progesterone complement each other; that is, each hormone counteracts the effects of the other to create a harmonious balance. The collection of symptoms related to excess estrogen relative to progesterone is called estrogen dominance. This imbalance occurs when there’s not enough progesterone to balance estrogen.  A woman may not necessarily have excess levels of estrogen to be  estrogen dominant; she may simply have relatively high estrogen  levels compared with her progesterone level. Before treatment, the symptoms listed below can be confirmed by lab tests showing a low progesterone-to-estradiol ratio.
